As part of the Safer Streets funding secured from the Home Office, LimeCulture has been commissioned to deliver free training to 160 members of the Cheshire community in order to improve the response received by victims and survivors making a disclosure of sexual violence.
Two courses are currently available for booking for all organisations who have been invited to take part in Cheshires Safer Streets Funded training.
First Responder training is designed to support community staff and volunteers to respond effectively to victims and survivors of sexual violence if and when they make a disclosure. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the myths and stereotypes society holds about sexual violence, consider appropriate and supportive methods of responding to individuals and ‘containing’ conversations, and learn more about signposting to specialist support services.
This one-day course will be most suitable for those working within public-facing organizations and businesses where there is a likelihood of receiving disclosures of a sensitive nature. While the context of the training is sexual violence, the principles discussed in training are applicable to all disclosures of a sensitive nature.
Train the Trainer (First Responder) will upskill designated community members to be able to deliver First Responder training to others within the community in their approach to supporting victims and survivors of sexual violence when they make a disclosure.
This two-day course is suitable for professionals with supervision, line management, or training responsibility within an organization, or those who would be supporting a member of staff who has been trained as a first responder on a LimeCulture course. It would be suitable for a delegate to attend this training.
