Summary
This one-day accredited course aims to enhance ISVAs’ ability to support clients facing legal challenges beyond the criminal justice system. By providing them with a deeper understanding of family courts and civil proceedings, ISVAs can better serve the complex and varied needs of victims and survivors of sexual violence
The next training course will be held on Friday 25 April 2025.
This CPD programme has been designed specifically for ISVAs and ISVA Managers, with expert legal input, and includes:
- Understanding the different types of family and civil proceedings an ISVA may be asked to support clients through
- Exploring the differences between the criminal justice system and family justice system
- Understanding the boundaries around ISVAs supporting clients through the family justice system and/or other civil proceedings, and potential conflicts with ongoing investigations and the criminal justice system
- Applying to support a client in family court and understanding the ISVA role as a supporter.
All delegates will be required to complete a written assessment as part of this accredited course.
We encourage you to get in touch with us directly if there are further adjustments you may need to support your learning and/or participation.
