This month, LimeCulture is pleased to commence delivery of a new NHS England-funded training programme to support HR and People Professionals across the NHS in responding effectively to sexual misconduct cases.

The programme, Sexual Misconduct and Case Management for People Professionals, has been developed as part of the National Employee Relations Investigations Development Programme. It is designed to strengthen the knowledge, confidence and consistency of those involved in supporting and managing cases where allegations of sexual misconduct have been raised.

The work builds on LimeCulture’s extensive experience supporting NHS organisations to embed safer cultures and strengthen their approaches to sexual safety. Across this work, we have seen the critical role that HR and People Professionals play in ensuring that concerns are taken seriously, risks are identified and managed, and investigations are approached with fairness, care and specialist understanding.

Supporting safer cultures and sexual safety across the NHS

There is now a clear and growing expectation that workplaces must do more to prevent and respond to sexual harassment and misconduct. For NHS organisations, this sits alongside the commitments set out in the NHS Sexual Safety Charter and the NHS Sexual Misconduct Policy Framework.

The new programme has been designed to support the implementation of these national frameworks while also contributing to the wider development of safer, more respectful and more accountable workplace cultures.

It will equip NHS trainers to deliver a one-day course within their own organisations, helping to build internal capability and support a sustainable, system-wide approach to sexual safety and safer culture change.

This training also complements LimeCulture’s wider work with NHS organisations to develop internal support models for staff who have experienced sexual misconduct, harassment or abuse, including our work with University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. Together, these strands of work recognise that safer cultures require both confident organisational responses and effective support for those affected.

Embedding safer cultures means creating environments where staff understand expected standards of behaviour, feel confident to raise concerns, and trust that those concerns will be responded to appropriately.

LimeCulture is proud to be working with NHS England on this important programme and to continue supporting NHS organisations as they strengthen sexual safety, staff wellbeing, organisational accountability and safer cultures.

By investing in specialist knowledge for HR and People Professionals, this programme represents another important step towards safer, more respectful and more responsive NHS workplaces.
