Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner Victims of Rape and Other Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) Engagement Project (May 2023)

LimeCulture was commissioned by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire to undertake an 18-month engagement project seeking feedback from individuals who had reported a sexual offence to the police. The project sought to elicit the views and experiences of victims/survivors about their interactions with the police and the local ISVA service as they progressed through the criminal justice system.

As part of this innovative project, LimeCulture carried out trauma-informed interviews with participants at key stages of the criminal justice journey, including at initial report, at interview stage, at the investigation stage, and following a charging decision (including No Further Action).  Findings from these interviews were used to make operational improvements to the police’s response to sexual offending and support better engagement with victims/survivors moving forward.
