West Yorkshire Combined Authority – Men and Boys Strategy Development Project – (April 2023)

Following on from work to deliver against the Mayor’s Police and Crime Plan and the West Yorkshire Safety of Women and Girls Strategy, and to utilise learning from initiatives funded by the Violence Reduction Unit, the West Yorkshire Combined Authority sought to progress work around the safety of men and boys.

LimeCulture was commissioned to carry out extensive consultation with local stakeholders, including victims/survivors of abuse, to help inform the regional development plans and strategic direction for West Yorkshire, and to better understand issues relating to the safety of men and boys.

As part of this project, LimeCulture directly engaged with more than 40 key stakeholders and experts in the field, and undertook a wide-ranging desk review of national and local strategies, literature, research, and practice to identify key concerns, risks, and protective factors relating to the safety of men and boys across West Yorkshire.

This project is being used to inform future commissioning and provision of local and regional services to ensure they are appropriate, effective and integrated, and able to respond to the different strands of vulnerability impacting men and boys across West Yorkshire.
