About the training
While the ISVA role has traditionally focused on supporting clients through the criminal justice system, ISVAs are increasingly being called upon to provide support during family proceedings in the Civil Court. These processes can significantly impact victims and survivors of sexual violence, making it essential for ISVAs to understand their role in these contexts.
This two-day NCFE-accredited online CPD course has been developed with expert legal input and will equip ISVAs with the confidence and knowledge to navigate this role function.
Delegates will explore:
- The types of family proceedings in the Civil Court that an ISVA may support clients through
- The key differences between criminal and family justice systems
- The boundaries and potential conflicts when supporting clients in family proceedings in the Civil Court
- The application process for supporting a client in family proceedings in the Civil Court, and the ISVA role as a supporter
- Learning takes place through a mix of direct teaching and case study discussion, ensuring practical relevance for frontline work.
