About the training

LimeCulture developed the Sexual Violence Liaison Officer (SVLO) model in 2016, and since then we’ve trained hundreds of SVLOs to be the trusted, specialist points of contact in universities, equipping them to respond appropriately to reports of sexual misconduct.

To ensure SVLOs remain confident, up to date, and operating to best practice standards, LimeCulture strongly recommends refresher training at least every three years.

This two-day accredited course provides SVLOs who have previously completed the SVLO Development Programme with the opportunity to update and refresh their knowledge and skills across key areas relevant to delivering SVLO support.

Delegates will also have the chance to work through case studies with our experienced trainers, and to share challenges and best practice with peers, reinforcing a community of professional learning.

The SVLO refresher programme covers:

  • Responding effectively to disclosures of sexual violence
  • Embedding trauma-informed communication
  • Information governance and managing risk
  • Signposting and making referrals to specialist services and the criminal justice process
  • Legislative, policy and practice updates
