About the training
Sexual misconduct can have profound impacts on individuals, requiring specialised, trauma-informed support to help victims/survivors navigate complex internal and external systems.
This training equips a cadre of staff to become Specialist Liaison Officers (SLOs), providing them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide end-to-end, confidential support to staff involved in sexual misconduct cases.
Through a blend of practical scenario-based exercises, case studies and interactive discussions, participants will learn how to provide empathetic, impartial information and guidance, empowering individuals to explore their options and access internal and external support and resources.
SLOs will be trained to act as a vital link between victims/survivors and the organisation, helping to navigate internal procedures, misconduct proceedings, and workplace support systems. Crucially, they will become skilled in navigating the organisational context, an area where external agencies often struggle, while building trust and safeguarding individuals.
This specialist training programme also embeds the SLO role within an institution-wide approach to addressing sexual misconduct, enabling organisations to respond consistently to incidents, identify and mitigate risks, and gather valuable insights to drive early intervention and systemic change.
It can be delivered either face-to-face or online, depending on your preference.
