Joanne Garey, Project Manager

Joanne joined LimeCulture’s Sport Team in February 2023 and has transitioned more recently to the role of Safer Cultures Project Manager, working within the university sector. In this role, she leads initiatives to promote safe and inclusive environments, providing guidance, training, and strategic support to organisations to embed best practice in safeguarding and culture change.

Joanne has previously supported the Sport England-funded Safeguarding Case Management Programme, a partnership between Sport England, Sport Resolutions, and LimeCulture, which provided sporting National Governing Bodies with expert assistance in managing safeguarding cases.

Joanne holds a BA (Honours) degree in Health and Social Care and brings extensive safeguarding experience. Prior to joining LimeCulture, she spent four years as a Lead Safeguarding Officer within a Sporting National Governing Body and three years as a Teaching Assistant in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities school. Her combined experience in education and sport equips her with a strong understanding of safeguarding frameworks, policy implementation, and creating safe, supportive environments for all participants.
