Maria Putz, Head of Training
Maria joined LimeCulture in January 2019 as a Training Manager and has since progressed to lead the organisation’s training team, overseeing the development and delivery of its full training portfolio. In this role, she oversees the design, development, and delivery of a comprehensive range of training programmes, professional development opportunities, and bespoke courses tailored to the needs of schools, colleges, sports organisations, health services, and other sectors.
She works closely with organisations to embed best practice, strengthen organisational capacity, and ensure that frontline staff are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to prevent, identify, and respond effectively to sexual misconduct and violence. Her leadership also includes mentoring and supporting other trainers, monitoring training quality, and contributing to the strategic development of LimeCulture’s training offer across all sectors.
During her time at LimeCulture, Maria has been instrumental in developing and delivering the Preventing Sexual Misconduct Education (PSME) programme and the Sexual Misconduct Liaison Officer (SMLO) Model, supporting schools and colleges to create a whole-school approach to the prevention and response to sexual misconduct. She has also presented nationally and internationally, sharing her expertise on healthy relationships, safeguarding, and sexual misconduct in sport.
Maria is deeply committed to improving services for those affected by sexual violence by equipping frontline workers with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to respond effectively and compassionately. Prior to joining LimeCulture, she worked as a specialist safeguarding nurse at the UK’s largest children’s hospital, and has also held roles as an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) and Crisis Worker, bringing a wealth of practical, frontline experience to her training and leadership work.
