Phil Doorgachurn, Non-Executive Director/Board

Phil Doorgachurn is a highly regarded leader and fierce advocate for children’s rights, dedicating his career to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people around the world. With over a decade of leadership in safeguarding, Phil has built a reputation for tirelessly supporting organisations in creating safe, empowering environments for children. Currently serving on the Advisory Board for the National Office for Child Safety with the Australian Government, he provides strategic counsel on the National Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Child Sexual Abuse, influencing national policy on child protection.

As the former CEO of YMCA Safeguarding, Phil spearheaded initiatives to embed robust and sustainable safeguarding practices across the organisation, working closely with international partners such as the World Alliance of YMCAs. His leadership roles as Director of Safeguarding in Sport at LimeCulture, and Head of Safeguarding at Arsenal F.C. and British Tennis, highlighted his ability to strengthen safeguarding functions across diverse sports organisations, ensuring compliance and best practice at all levels.

In his current role as a global safeguarding consultant, Phil works with organisations across the world to guide them through their safeguarding journey, implementing systems that protect children and foster safe cultures. His expertise and commitment to children’s rights have made him a trusted advisor and advocate, with a proven track record of advancing safeguarding both nationally and internationally.
