Building Safer, More Accountable Criminal Justice Practices

LimeCulture works in partnership with Criminal Justice System organisations, including police forces, the Crown Prosecution Service, courts, legal professionals, and specialist support services, to transform responses to sexual violence and abuse.

We deliver expert training and consultancy that embed trauma-informed, victim-centred, and legally robust practice across frontline teams, managers, senior leaders, and entire organisations to strengthen confidence, consistency, and decision-making.

We support cultural change across the criminal justice sector, including within large, complex organisations such as police forces. We build the capability of frontline staff and senior leaders to manage sexual misconduct cases sensitively and responsibly, while addressing workplace conduct, power dynamics, and organisational accountability.

We also work closely with commissioners and multi-agency partnerships to improve outcomes and pathways to support. Through specialist training, expert advice and support and service improvement consultancy, we help systems work better together to meet the needs of victims and survivors.

Our work includes independent reviews, workforce engagement, and policy input, enabling organisations to identify systemic barriers and implement evidence-based improvements.

LimeCulture regularly contributes to national and regional steering groups and forums, ensuring victim/survivor perspectives and trauma-informed principles shape both practice and policy.

By combining deep subject expertise with a comprehensive understanding of  the criminal justice system, we help organisations deliver confident, credible, and consistent responses that improve experiences and outcomes for victims and survivors.

Consultancy customised to your needs

Our work spans independent reviews, workforce engagement, and policy development, providing organisations with the insight and guidance needed to identify barriers, address gaps, and implement evidence-based improvements that enhance safety, accountability, and organisational culture. Through tailored consultations and assessments, we help leaders and staff understand the practical challenges within their settings and develop strategies that are both realistic and sustainable.

By bridging the gap between frontline experience, research, and policy, we support organisations to not only comply with statutory requirements but to create lasting cultural change that prioritises the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of everyone involved.

Training courses

Our accredited Specialist Liaison Officer (SLO) training equips key staff within police forces with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to fulfil this critical role, providing end-to-end, confidential support to officers and staff involved in sexual misconduct cases, whether recent or non-recent.

In addition, we offer a range of training courses delivered through online, face-to-face, and eLearning formats. This includes both core courses and customised in-house programmes, all designed to help participants develop new skills or refresh existing knowledge in practical, relevant, and impactful ways, enabling them to create safer, trauma-informed, and accountable policing environments.

From the Gloucestershire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s perspective we were very keen to understand the current service provision and quality of the ISVA service in Gloucestershire and also to use the findings to develop a specification for the commissioning of our new and inclusive ISVA service which will commence in April 2018.

We had no hesitation in commissioning Lime Culture to conduct this review and were exceedingly impressed with the team who visited Gloucestershire which included their Chief Executive, Stephanie Reardon. Their approach was of the highest professional quality and their ability to interact with key stakeholders was thorough. The final report was very well presented and has enabled us to produce a specification which has been recognised as being of very high standard and will be used by other OPCC commissioning teams within the country.”.

Richard Bradley, Deputy Chief Executive, OPCC Gloucestershire

“Cambridgeshire Constabulary is committed to improving responses to Rape Investigation. A critical aspect of our strategy is supporting our workforce to develop their investigative mindset alongside understanding and responding to the impact on their own wellbeing. Working with LimeCulture to deliver Trauma Informed Training has been seamless right from the initial development stage through to the delivery phase. The training fully complimented procedural change being embedded within the team and was delivered in an energetic, thought-provoking and respectful manner. Feedback from the team has been really positive with each officer identifying changes they will make to their own practices. Such was the impact on specialist officers that LimeCulture have been commissioned to assist in delivering Trauma Informed Training across the whole of the organisation, which I am confident will be just as successful”.

DCI Sherrie Nash, Cambridgeshire Constabulary

“The training was a massive success and the feedback I have received from officers reflects why I had so much faith in LimeCulture –they said it was interesting, informative, well-delivered and engaging. Officers have recommended to their colleagues that should the opportunity to go on this training comes up again, they should jump at the chance. This is an excellent collaboration and surely makes a new pathway for the future.”

DCI John Moore, West Yorkshire Police

“We approached LimeCulture as the leading provider of ISVA training, to be our evaluation partner for an innovative project which placed trained ISVAs in NHS Hospital Trusts with the aim of identifying and supporting victims presenting in crisis.

“Their guidance and expertise was invaluable, as they advised us at various stages of project implementation, worked with us to create frameworks which have been integral to the project’s success and provided evidence which enabled the OPCC to secure long-term funding for the initiative upon expiry of the initial grant.

“They were approachable and easy to work with, and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them for sexual violence based scoping or evaluation in the future.”

Liz Canavan, Senior Policy and Partnerships Manager (Victims and Vulnerable People) , Lancashire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner
