Safer Streets – Sexual Misconduct Liaison Officer Training (SMLO) – 25th, 26th & 27th September 2023 – Invite only

The SMLO Model provides the infrastructure for schools and colleges to identify, monitor, and manage the individual risk and needs of the young person (who is reporting sexual misconduct or against whom a report has been made) and coordinate the support available from within the school or college and from external agencies/services to safeguard and protect them more effectively.

LimeCulture have been in discussion with the Safer Streets Police team and following feedback we are offering 3 open SMLO deliveries. The following dates will allow any school or college who have been offered the SMLO training, the flexibility to send any number of staff from your 12 funded spaces, to attend the full three days.

Each delegate will need to attend the full three days to gain their accreditation and be able to be an SMLO.  To embed the model each school/college will require a minimum of three staff trained as SMLOs, the Safer Streets team have funded up to 12 places for each school/college (places can be spread across the available dates).  We advise that at least one DSL or deputy attends the training along with any staff you feel would be suitable in the SMLO role.
