LimeCulture has been commissioned by the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner to deliver ‘First Responder’ training to 100 community staff and volunteers across Cheshire. It is part of the Home Office funded Safer Streets 4 initiative.
This free First Responder training is designed to support community staff and volunteers to respond effectively to victims and survivors of sexual violence if and when they make a disclosure.
Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the myths and stereotypes society holds about sexual violence, consider appropriate and supportive methods of responding to individuals and ‘containing’ conversations, and learn more about signposting to specialist support services.
This one-day training course will be most suitable for those working within public-facing organisations and businesses where there is a likelihood of receiving disclosures of a sensitive nature. Whilst the context of the training is sexual violence, the principles discussed in training are applicable to all disclosures of a sensitive nature.
